BANSKO

Bansko is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located at the foot of the Pirin mountain at an elevation of 950 m above sea level. Once mainly a stockbreeding and travelling merchant community, Bansko has become an international centre for winter and summer tourism and now it is a popular ski resort. The mountain peaks near the town, the numerous lakes and the old pine woods make it a popular site for recreation.
